Aluminium windows and doors in Bali: 2026 prices per m²
Villa-grade aluminium windows in Bali cost from IDR 2,850,000 per m² of opening, supplied and installed; sliding doors from IDR 3,650,000 per m², folding doors from IDR 5,200,000 and lift-and-slide systems from IDR 8,000,000 per m². Frames from a local workshop cost roughly a third to a half of that. Below: what each price buys, why the gap exists, what moves a quote and a worked budget for a three-bedroom villa.

Aluminium window and door prices per m² in Bali, 2026
Two very different products are both called “aluminium windows” in Bali. Local workshops (bengkel kusen aluminium) assemble frames from light standard profiles, usually with 5 mm clear glass; villa-grade systems use heavier sections, safety glass, stainless hardware and engineered drainage. The table puts the two side by side. Prices are per m² of opening, supplied and installed.
| Type | Local workshop, typical | Villa-grade, our guide price |
|---|---|---|
| Fixed, casement, awning or sliding window | IDR 0.75–1.8 million / m² | from IDR 2,850,000 / m² |
| Two-panel sliding door | IDR 0.9–2.5 million / m² | from IDR 3,650,000 / m² |
| Multi-track stacking sliding wall | rarely made locally | from IDR 4,250,000 / m² |
| Lift-and-slide door | system product only | from IDR 8,000,000 / m² |
| Folding / bifold door | IDR 1.5–3 million / m² | from IDR 5,200,000 / m² |
| Swing or French doors | IDR 1.8–3.4 million per door | from IDR 4,200,000 / m² (≈ IDR 8 million for a 0.9 × 2.1 m door) |
| Fixed insect screen | IDR 350,000–750,000 / m² | from IDR 780,000 / m² |
The local figures are typical 2025–2026 Indonesian price-list ranges for frames from 3–4 inch standard profiles with clear float glass; villa-grade prices are the guide prices on our aluminium windows and facade glazing and aluminium doors pages. Both are “from” figures: size, glass and site conditions move them, and the exact number follows a measured survey.
Why a villa-grade window costs about twice a workshop frame
The frames look similar in a photo. The difference is in the parts you cannot see, and it shows after two or three wet seasons:
- Section thickness. Light standard profiles are often around 1 mm wall thickness. On large sliding leaves we use 1.4–2.0 mm sections, because thin sections flex in the wind and flexing frames leak.
- Glass. 5 mm clear float glass is cheap and breaks into sharp shards. Doors and low windows need tempered or laminated safety glass — a larger cost per m² than most owners expect.
- Hardware. Zinc-plated rollers and locks corrode near the sea within a couple of years; stainless or sealed-bearing rollers rated for the real leaf weight last many times longer.
- Seals and drainage. EPDM gaskets stay elastic in UV where PVC gaskets harden and shrink. Designed drainage chambers and weep slots decide whether the track empties outwards or into the room.
- Coating. Seaside-grade powder coating or anodising within a couple of kilometres of the beach; standard coating chalks and bleeds rust from cheap fixings.
- Installation. Frames set on packers and fixed into structure, a sill with a fall and a flashing, joints with backer rod and movement-rated sealant, and a hose test before handover — instead of foam and a bead of silicone.
None of this makes the workshop frame wrong everywhere. For a storeroom, staff quarters or a small fixed window under a deep overhang it is a sensible way to save money. The openings where the cheap option costs more in the end are the big sliding doors and anything facing the weather.
Glass upgrades and what they add
| Glass | Where it is used | Typical extra over clear glass |
|---|---|---|
| Tempered 8–10 mm | Doors, low windows, showers | tempered 8 mm costs IDR 440,000–750,000 per m² against IDR 110,000–200,000 for 5 mm clear |
| Laminated 8–10 mm | Security, overhead glass, acoustic rooms | about IDR 1.1–1.25 million per m² |
| Low-E or solar-control | West-facing glass, large glazed walls | adds about roughly IDR 200,000–500,000 per m² |
| Double glazing (insulated unit) | 24/7 air-conditioned bedrooms, noisy roads, flight path | the glass costs two to three times a single pane, and the frame needs a deeper glazing pocket |
Which glass goes where is covered in tempered vs laminated glass; whether insulated glass is worth it in your rooms is covered in double glazing in Bali.
What moves an aluminium window quote
- Size of each pane. Big panes need thicker glass and heavier sections, and they take more people to lift. Price per m² rises past about 3 m tall or 1.5 m per leaf.
- Opening type. Fixed glass is the cheapest per m², sliding next, then casement, folding and lift-and-slide.
- Distance from the sea. Seaside coating and 316/A4 stainless hardware add a few per cent and remove the main cause of early failure on the coast.
- Colour and finish. Black, bronze and anodised finishes cost more than standard white, grey or champagne.
- Access. Upper floors without crane access and long carries down cliff paths add labour.
- Old frames. Removing existing windows and making good the opening is priced per opening.
Worked example: windows and doors for a three-bedroom villa
A typical single-storey three-bedroom pool villa: a window in each bedroom (1.8 × 1.5 m), a small window in each bathroom (0.8 × 0.6 m), two windows in the living and kitchen area (2.4 × 1.5 m), a 4.8 m stacking door from the living room to the pool and a 2.4 m sliding door from each bedroom to the garden. Screens on everything.
| Line | Quantity | Guide total |
|---|---|---|
| Windows, villa-grade, tempered where required | 16.7 m² | from IDR 47.7 million |
| Living room stacking door, 4.8 × 2.4 m | 11.5 m² | from IDR 49.0 million |
| Three bedroom sliding doors, 2.4 × 2.4 m | 17.3 m² | from IDR 63.1 million |
| Pleated insect screens for the doors | 5 openings | from IDR 26.0 million |
| Fixed insect screens for the windows | 16.7 m² | from IDR 13.1 million |
| Total, guide | from ≈ IDR 200 million |
Built with local workshop frames and clear glass, the same schedule would cost roughly half. The difference sits almost entirely in the four big doors, which is exactly where the cheap version tends to fail. If the budget has to come down, keep the specification on the terrace doors and save on small fixed windows in sheltered service areas.
How glazing is measured and paid
Glazing is priced per m² of opening — the outside size of the frame — not per m² of floor. Very small windows carry a minimum charge per unit because the hardware and labour are the same as on a larger one. A fair contract lists every opening with its size, type, glass and hardware, so you can check the arithmetic. Profiles and glass are made for your openings, so a deposit is normal at order; the balance should be staged against delivery and against the hose test, not paid in full before anything is installed.
What to send for an accurate quote
- Drawings or a list of openings with widths and heights
- Which openings slide, swing, fold or stay fixed
- Location and distance from the sea
- Photos of the openings if the building already exists
- Frame colour and whether you want insect screens
From that we can send a guide price the same day and plan the survey around the openings that matter.
FAQ
Quick answers
How much do aluminium windows cost per m² in Bali?
Villa-grade aluminium windows cost from IDR 2,850,000 per m² of opening, supplied and installed with the right glass; sliding doors from IDR 3,650,000 per m². Local workshop frames with clear glass are typically IDR 0.75–1.8 million per m², but they use lighter sections, plated hardware and basic seals.
Why are local “kusen aluminium” quotes so much cheaper?
They use light standard profiles, 5 mm clear float glass, zinc-plated rollers and PVC gaskets, and they are usually fixed with foam and silicone. That is fine for sheltered small windows; on big sliding doors facing the weather it is the specification we are most often called to replace.
Is uPVC cheaper than aluminium in Bali?
For standard windows, often yes — uPVC windows typically cost IDR 1.2–2.5 million per m² installed. For very large sliding doors and dark colours in full sun aluminium is the safer choice; our comparison of aluminium, uPVC and timber windows explains why.
Do your prices include glass and installation?
Yes. Our guide prices are per m² of opening with tempered glass where safety requires it, hardware, installation, sealing and a hose test. Low-E, laminated or insulated glass, seaside specification and insect screens are priced as options.
